Donation Policy

Voluntary, direct, no overhead
Every donation goes directly to a personal account operated by Dinesh Saravanan. There are no salaries, office rent, or fundraising commissions. Every rupee — minus the payment gateway's processing fee (typically 1.8–2.5%) — is spent on the cause you donated to.
The work is run as a personal initiative. There is currently no registered NGO/trust and no 80G exemption, so donations are not tax-deductible at this time.
Accepted payment methods
- Razorpay — UPI, debit/credit cards, netbanking, and wallets (instant, India).
- UPI — direct to Dinesh Saravanan's UPI ID.
- Bank Transfer — NEFT / IMPS / RTGS to the account shared on the donate page.
- PayPal — for international donors (USD).
Card numbers, CVVs, and UPI PINs never reach our servers. They are handled exclusively by the payment provider.
What we do with your donation
- Tag & record: every donation is logged against the cause you chose (or "General Support" if none).
- Spend within 30 days: typical turnaround from donation to documented use is 7–30 days. Larger projects (smart classrooms, housing) may take longer; you'll see progress photos as they happen.
- Document everything: photos, receipts, and short notes are posted publicly on the cause's "Updates" timeline at
/cause/<slug>. - Acknowledge you: if you provide an email and don't opt out, you'll get a thank-you email. If you allow it, your name + amount appear on the public donor wall — a small public thanks. Tick "Anonymous" to keep your name private.
Refund policy
Donations are non-refundable in principle, because the funds are typically deployed quickly. However, we will issue a full refund if any of the following apply:
- The donation was made in error or duplicated.
- You request a refund within 7 days of the payment, before the funds have been used.
- There is evidence of fraudulent or unauthorised use of your payment instrument.
Email dineshbsaravanan@gmail.com with the donation order ID and the amount. Approved refunds are processed via the original payment method within 7 working days. Razorpay/PayPal may take an additional 3–10 business days to credit your bank.
Cancellations
Donations are one-time payments — there are no recurring subscriptions, so there is nothing to cancel. If you set up a standing instruction with your bank, please cancel it directly with your bank.
Anonymity
You decide whether your name appears publicly. The donate form has a clear "Show as anonymous on the public donor wall" checkbox. Even without it, only your first name + amount + (optional) message appear publicly — never email, phone, or address.
Receipts
On successful payment, you receive a thank-you email with the donation reference. For a printable receipt with your full name and date, email us with the order ID and we'll send a PDF.
Disputes & chargebacks
We strongly prefer resolving issues directly. Email us before filing a chargeback — chargeback fees levied by Razorpay/PayPal come out of the cause's budget, which hurts the people we serve. We commit to responding within 48 hours.
Reporting
The cause page (/cause/<slug>) shows the total raised, donor count, and progress towards the goal in real time. Updates posted there are public and time-stamped — you can verify exactly when and how money moved.
